  • Position Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Public Relations and Communications, the Communications Associate I supports the efforts of the public relations and communications department that is responsible for internal and external communications. The position of Communications Associate I functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of, the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.

     Interlake-Eastern RHA is committed to responding to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and creating working environments free of racism for both clients and employees. All staff members are encouraged to seek and identify patterns of harm towards Indigenous, black and marginalized clients and employees and to take actions to disrupt any form of racism. Collectively and individually, we are growing cultural competency capacity by implementing the region’s anti-racism action plan.


  • Qualifications:

  •  Degree/ diploma in Public relations / CommunicationsProficiency with Microsoft software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher), Adobe Acrobat

  • Proficiency in using the Internet, familiar with content management systems
  • Two to three years of recent related experience
  • Update and maintain website and intranet content, ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements, and seeking ways to improve the user experience.
  • Desktop publishing/graphic design to support programs, services and communications activities across the organization
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, independently and as part of a team, in a busy work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong adherence to deadlines
  • Exhibits exemplary customer service
  • Valid Manitoba driver’s license.
  • Mental and physical ability to meet the demands of the position.

    As a condition of employment, all successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening), adult abuse and child abuse registry checks prior to commencing employment.

  • Direct care workers are required to either be vaccinated for Covid-19 or to participate in on-going regular Covid-19 testing pursuant to Orders made under The Public Health Act C.C.S.M. c.P210.  Successful applicants will be notified at the time of offer of the applicability of this requirement for this position.
