Position Summary: Reporting to the Regional Lead, Communications, the Communications Assistant supports the efforts of the public relations and communications department that is responsible for internal and external communications. The role of the Communications Assistant position is to assist with ensuring compliance with accessibility policies, in particular online requirements. This position functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of, the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Qualifications:
- Grade 12.
- Completion of a recognized administrative/secretarial or communication program required, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Proficiency in using the Internet and familiarity with online content management systems (WordPress) an asset.
- Familiarity with Canva an asset.
- Two to three years of recent related experience in an administrative role.
- Public relations or communications experience will be an asset.
- Effective written and verbal communications.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, independently and as part of a team, in a busy work environment.
- Adherence to deadlines.
- Collaboration with co-workers and others.
- Completes projects to full scope, effectively and efficiently.
- Exhibits exemplary customer service.
- Mental and physical ability to meet the demands of the position.
- Completes and maintains a satisfactory pre-employment security check.
- Satisfactory employment record.
